BayWa r.e Mozart Groundbreaking in Texas

WKN USA, LLC is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of BayWa r.e Mozart, LLC (Project Mozart) near Abilene, TX. WKN USA manages Project Mozart on behalf of its majority shareholder BayWa r.e USA, LLC. 

Speakers at the event included: Florian Zerhusen, President and CEO of WKN USA, LLC; Dan Morrison, Vice President of Project Management and Services for Nordex USA, Inc.; Ben Fischer, President of Signal Energy, LLC and local representatives: Kent County Judge Jim White, Stonewall County Judge Ronnie Moorhead, Rotan Independent School District’s Kent Ruffin and Scoot Nowlin, and Stonewall County Memorial Hospital District’s Larry Coats and Andy Colb. Multiple landowners and local press were also in attendance at the event. 

Once completed, Project Mozart will be a 30 MW wind farm – the first such project in both Kent and Stonewall Counties. Consisting of approximately 4,000 acres, Project Mozart will consist of 12 Nordex wind turbine generators, each with a hub height of 80 meters and a generating capacity of 2.5 megawatts. The project is slated to begin commercial operation in December of 2012. 

Signal Energy, LLC has been selected to oversee Project Mozart’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction. Signal also assisted WKN USA with Project Snyder, also in Texas.
