A Proactive Approach

Delivering reliable energy goes hand in hand with managing our own operational footprint responsibly. Since 2020, all our offices, warehouses, and IPP sites are supplied with renewable electricity. From 2018–2023, we compensated for operational emissions, including business travel, through certified initiatives.

As of 2024, we have refined this approach to focus on long-term contributions that align with international best practices and the goals of the Paris Agreement. This ensures our efforts remain credible, measurable, and impactful.

Building for Biodiversity

BayWa r.e. is committed to responsible project development that minimizes impact on the natural environment. From incorporating habitat-friendly practices to implementing mitigation measures where needed, we carefully design our projects to minimize environmental impact and to integrate with surrounding landscapes.

In the U.S., we partner with organizations such as the Bee & Butterfly Habitat Fund, to plant pollinator-friendly habitats around our projects and strengthen biodiversity. Through their Solar Synergy Program, we ensure that we stay compliant with local and national requirements, while supporting the land, communities, and wildlife.
